Exposure to Uncertainty: Clinical Applications for Anxiety and Worry

Overview: Uncertainty scripts are an exposure-based intervention designed to help clients build tolerance for uncertainty by repeatedly confronting feared outcomes without attempting to resolve them. This training equips clinicians to:
Conceptualize the role of intolerance of uncertainty maintaining anxiety and worry
Practice assessing when uncertainty scripts are clinically indicated across clinical presentations
Create one practice script that promotes emotional engagement and inhibitory learning
Role play implementing uncertainty scripts while reducing other forms of avoidance

Spring 2026 DBT Level 1 Training
This course will cover the basic elements of DBT including theory, all modes of treatment, and interventions. In some organizations, this level of training is called “foundational or comprehensive”. This training is designed to be an introductory course in DBT, and to help you commence your journey towards beginning to offer comprehensive DBT. Throughout the training you will be expected to attend all sessions in their entirety as well as complete homework including role play practice. The course will occur over 12 weeks and will cover the following topics: Overview of theory and modes of treatment, pre-treatment, risk assessment and documentation, diary card, case conceptualization, behavioral principles and chain analysis, phone coaching, consultation team, skills group, stylistic strategies, contingency management, exposure, cognitive modification, and secondary targets. The specific learning objectives for each of the 12 days will be provided in the syllabus upon registration, along with the overall learning objectives for the course and information on the instructors, Drs. Hollie Granato, Christopher Hawkey, and Hugh Leonard. Sessions are weekly on Thursdays from 4-6pm beginning February 19th, 2026 and concluding on May 7th, 2026. Cost is $1000. Integrating MI Strategy Into CBT
This two-hour program will provide an advanced training in motivational interviewing (MI) for clinicians. Using complex clinical examples from CBT cases, we will practice conceptualizing behavior change from within an MI framework as well as role play strategies for incorporating MI into CBT treatment. We will also discuss barriers to implementing motivational interviewing strategies and role play difficult situations that arise around addressing substance use behavior. $85 with CE credits. $75 without CE credits.
